On December 18, 2007, Nicole Rogers Longo and husband Doug Longo opened the doors to Tampa Bay’s original specialty gourmet cupcake-only confectionery “The Cupcake Spot” in trendy South Tampa . They not only debuted our delicious cupcakes that day but also introduced the world to the adorable Cupcake Spot mascot, “Cuppy” who has become as popular as the single serving delights our staff bakes each day. In January 2009, we expanded to a second location on the quaint urban streets of downtown St. Petersburg on the corner of Fourth and Central.
Since opening, Cuppy has delighted the residents of Tampa Bay with over 600,000 of his richly delectable cupcakes. Cuppy loves baking up cupcakes that look a lot like him – with the same rich, natural ingredients that make him so cute and tasty. The Cupcake Spot reserves our top 16 flavors for daily retail in each of the stores. But we also rotate in new flavors from time to time.
Our staff will provide you with undivided attention as you select just one or schedule a catering consultation. Come in and try them – you’ll soon see why food critics, the media and customers laud the Cupcake Spot’s praises. To which Cuppy says, “I just want to be sweet to everyone!”

Nicole Rogers Longo once built and burnished corporate images. Today, the former public relations executive works to build a better cupcake.
After 18 years in the corporate world, Nicole yearned to do something with a creative outlet and bring sheer joy to other people. Many of the recipes for the Cupcake Spot were lovingly concocted and combined by Nicole using handed-down recipes from many generations from friends and family.
Nicole and her husband Doug Longo met when they were 13 at Tampa Preparatory School . When he’s not wearing his baker’s hat, Doug is a professional tournament fisherman – scouting Florida ’s waters for the best snook, redfish and trout. Doug’s own baking enthusiasm resulted in the creation of several Spots favorites like Butterscotch Babies, Key Lime and Mint-a-licious.
Together Nicole and Doug live in Palma Ceia with their pets: a greyhound rescue named Blitzen, and an enthusiastic chocolate lab named Cappuccino, who loves cupcakes more than most humans.
